"Amazing suite. Perfect location. Extremely helpful bellboys, frontdesk, cleaning and roomservice. Pool is amazing. Too many children for 5* for my kind of holiday. Poolservice was probably a bit under staffed in low season and limited service around pool and beach area. Some younger men were helpful with sun shades, but hard to figure out the system since they were not wearing uniform and you should find them for help.
People still place towels and "reserve" sunbeds for all day, eventhough they are not around. It seems to me this will again be a problem in high season. Some sunbeds and shades are broken. Maybe more 5 star conference hotel than 5 star adult couple, without kids, hotel."
"Excellent, first class service from our morning waitress Cresily who looked after us exceptionally well.
Room was generally good but area around the outside doors to balcony was poorly maintained with big cracks around the frame. Curtains could not be drawn fully leaving a large gap at the top.
Air conditioning was not working in the room when we arrived Tuesday evening and after raising this with a member of the reception staff the following morning, it was discovered there was a general fault in the hotel and a firm had to be contacted to fix it - which they did on Friday. It meant the first 3 nights were quite uncomfortable for us as it was quite hot in the room.
Despite the hotel advert stated "Soak up the sunrays by the outdoor pool with sea water" when we booked the holiday, the pool was CLOSED which was a very big disappointment for us.
Two separate events at the hotel meant the outside facilities were curtailed for most of Friday and the following day an afternoon and evening event lead to noise in our corridor which was not caused by hotel residents."
"Hôtel qui affiche un peu son âge, mais qui est vraiment bien entretenu. Extrêmement bien situé, à 2 pas de la promenade et des restaurants.
Hôtel très calme, et le déjeuner est copieux."
"Nice location in Opatija. A bit difficult to park and check-in, we parked in nearby parking garage and then staff gave us directions to their parking lot. It is a bit of a walk from parking to hotel. We had a standard type hotel room with a view over the trees to the bay. Very nice old hotel. Very walkable once you have checked in."
"The hotel was clean, tidy, and well maintained, and the location is excellent. However, this is unfortunately not a very family-friendly hotel.
Children are not allowed to use the indoor pool, and although there is an outdoor pool with loungers, you have to pass through the spa area to access it, which also restricts children from entering. With temperatures reaching 33 degrees, this was quite disappointing for families travelling with kids.
We then decided to use the hotel beach area, only to find out that sunbeds cost an additional €25 each, which felt excessive considering we were already hotel guests.
Another downside was the parking charge. We were not aware before arrival that hotel parking costs €25 per day on top of the room rate.
Overall, while the hotel itself is clean and comfortable, families with children should be aware of the restrictions and extra costs before booking."
"The breakfast was great, lots of hot and cold offerings, WAY better than a continental breakfast.
Staff was friendly and helpful. A real bargain and pleasant location. "
