"My stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Birmingham was extremely disappointing and far below what you’d expect from a Hilton property. They charge for parking, yet the lot is poorly maintained with trash scattered around, and the speed bumps are unnecessarily high to the point of being ridiculous. Charging extra for that level of upkeep is unacceptable. The problems only got worse inside. The pool was dirty, the room had insects running around , and the bathroom was in terrible condition. The shower head was loose and not properly attached, and there were dark spots around the shower that appear to be mold—completely unacceptable from a cleanliness and health standpoint. To top it off, the bed was uncomfortable, making it hard to get a decent night’s sleep. Overall, this hotel is poorly maintained and not worth the cost. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone"

"The hotel was clean inside. Outside of the hotel we encountered a homeless man urinating on the sidewalks right after we checked in. I was frightened for our safety because of this. There was no parking on site and we had to pay to park close by. The area we parked in was dark and smelled of urine. "

"3 pillows on each queen bed for 4 adults….not enough. And then when we call for more there are no more :( disappointed. Tv had very limited options. Sheets were eh. I’ve stayed at begged la quintas so I had high expectations but was slightly let down. Overall not bad, just not what I was expecting. "

"Sink was broken and plugged, door lock was broken, carpet was stained in several places, beds were disgusting, and very worn. Hotel Lobby stunk like air freshener, almost too strong to handle, hallways had trash in them. We ended up leaving without reimbursement and stayed in the hotel next to it. "

"Hotel was fairly clean, but reeked of weed inside and out. People hanging around with no qualms about riding in on your key card. Staff was friendly though."
