"Did not meet expectations. Facility needs more upkeep and general maintenance, mostly on the exterior and outdoor areas. Stayed in building Q, which had litter and some trash in the open hallway for the 3 nights we were there. The 2 bedroom queen with patio room was spacious and pretty nice I side, except for the numerous spots where the wallpaper was peeling. The dirty dusty grimy patio, and the shower head that wouldn't stay in place (pole kept dropping down). Pool was a nice temperature, but there were no towels available (sometimes for hours, 2 of the 3 nights). Restaurant onsite was pricey but pretty tasty. Pickle ball courts were abundant and free to borrow equipment to play."
"We chose to stay here over a couple less expensive but comparable highly rated hotels along the same street because it was supposed to be a “resort” versus just a hotel. The pool area is way too small for the size of the hotel and the amenities like towels are not restocked throughout the day, leaving the cabinets empty by the afternoon. The free breakfast is really not good. Reminds me of a school breakfast or something government funded. There’s not enough seating for guests, including the fire pits. The biggest problem we encountered was the loudest HVAC ever! Not talking about our rooms HVAC, but the neighbors. Whenever it would go on I could feel the vibration it was so loud. This made for disturbing sleep and not pleasant time in the room. The bathroom shower head/sink faucet was rusty and the caulking needed replacing. Our room was on the 4th floor of the south tower and we could also hear housekeeping banging and possibly the washing machines and dryers were on top of us? It was just too loud! All in all not worth the extra money spent to stay there. "
"Typically, rest here overnight in Pismo Beach due to mid-point from Marshall, CA, to Richmond, CA.
My late husband and I have been coming back well over 34 yrs. Immediately, at this visit, noticed a change! I just could not place my finger on it. No complaints all boxes checked ✅ off.
Checked in Easter 🐣 Sunday evening. Rested, surprisingly found parking right in front of my rented room. At Monday’s free breakfast (no complaints!), and after returning to my room. Picked up the Casa Grande Best Western hotel room legend. There is was in small print: “New Owners!”
Highly recommend this place! Hotel rooms cleaned, noticed a few downgrades, i.e., of the two key cards issued, only one key card was granting me entrance; I reserved room via Hotels.com and required to pay upfront in order to book!; Tissue Box vs. Kleenex Box; one-ply tissue vs. 2-ply; less trash cans in the room, less towels; less free room samples; and, on my checkout day by 9:00 a.m., maid knocking loudly, “Room Service!” Not ten minutes prior, called front desk to remind her I had a late check since I arrived about 7:30 p.m., and was granted extension until 12 noon.
Upgrades: Less expensive rooms; new waterfall w/lights (night); bushes hooked up with clear lights; more new flowers blooming (Calla Lillies), less employees (food, maids, gardners, staff); new big screen tv w/o the swivel, etc.
Upon my departure, felt as if this was a family-owned business."
"This place needs a new makeover. Everything was outdated. The carpet was so dirty and filthy. When you take a shower, the drain is so slow it fills up the tub. The only nice thing is the location and the staff. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I booked a three day stay and left on the second day. 1 star "
"Pro: Staff was amazing, location and parking were excellent, price was great as well
Con: windows so thin that it felt like the seagulls and people on the steet were IN my room on the top floor. My friend in the room next door said the same. Very hard to sleep past 5am."
