If you come by car this hotel is a very short walk from a parking lot. The breakfast was very good. The staff extremely nice. Great location to walk to sites. It is in an old building and I loved that they kept the look. My only real complaint is the bed is not very comfortable.

The hotel has an excellent location with a beautiful view terrace of the castle and the museum just across the street. Although, the actual hotel’s terrace which does not have a castle view but a view of the park, we never found open for our use. The hotel has an interesting past which also made the stay fun. The breakfast was fantastic and always well presented and stocked. The only complaint is, our room did not have a shower curtain or glass, so when showering the pressed wood vanity and sink would get soaked—they must have to replace the pressed wood vanities often? Would recommend this hotel.

, The views are fantastic and the staff was attentive and helpful. The breakfast was good. However, this is not a 4 star hotel. The furniture, carpeting and drapery are old, and tattered. No shower in the bathroom. Just a tub with a shower handle. No shower curtain. Mismatched old tile and fixtures. The halls and side lobby are dark and felt creepy to us.

While not dirty the room was not as clean as most other hotels I've stayed at. There were tears in the drapery and dirt in the bathtub. Very disappointing.

Upon checkin around 6 PM, porter has already gone home, around checkout porter is too busy to help. We asked for water bottle and were shown a map how to get to the shop to buy it. We asked if they could replenish the fridge and they said since we were leaving today it will be done after we check out. Rooms did not have a king bed and instead we got two twin beds combined together to form a bed. Their parking (non existent) was supposedly full and we were directed to a public parking (10 minutes walk back). Overall they ruined our experience of lovely Cesky Krumlov. Stay away from this hotel.

Dear Guest,we thank you for having chosen our Hotel Růže as your preferred in Český Krumlov and for the time spent in writing your review.Your opinion is very important for us, in order to improve the quality of the service provided to our guests.I am sorry to read that something was not as you expected, during your stay with us, but I would like to inform you that our porter is always at work until 8:00pm but also I would like to highlight that the service provided is a "courtesy service" (given for free) and it's always upon availability.Regarding the water, if you asked where you can buy it, of course the staff have firstly proposed you the water from our "minibar" (either at the reception or at the restaurant), but if you wanted to buy a big bottle of water (we only have small ones) they have shown you the closest shop on the map!Anyway, we truly apologize if there was any misunderstanding in this regard.For what concerns the bed, I would like to inform you that in most of the Hotels around the world the system of the beds is the same (in order to make it as "twin" or as "double" beds, according to guests request).Finally, our parking it has limited space and unfortunately when it reach the full capacity we cannot do anything else than suggest to our guests the closest public parking (again, a courtesy given).Overall, we are sorry if your expectations were not met and we will surely try to improve the quality of the services provided, but you should also consider that we are in a very small and touristic village, where facilities and services are not so "obvious".We hope you will have another chance to visit us again and we will try to provide the best service for you, as we usually do with all our guests.Best regards

Nice relaxing stay. Love it!
Had a nice weekend stay there. Room was nice with 19th century feeling. View was very nice. Location was also very good. For info, there is only a bath and not a shower and no shower curtain. I guess it fits the 19th century feeling. I have no issue at all with it i think it's very nice. But some people might have different opinion. I had a really nice relaxing stay

Extremely overpriced 3 star hotel at best
We stayed for 2 nights expecting a 5 star hotel experience. At best this hotel is an extremely overpriced 3 star hotel. The floors in the room looked like they hadn't been remodeled or painted since the 1800s. The floor was full of sand and little rocks when we got there. There were no amenities to speak of other than hand soap that was used for both the sink and the bathtub. There was no curtain for the bathtub, and therefore after every shower the floor was soaked. We paid extra for breakfast which was decent, but nothing extra and all of the food was bland. The first day they sat us at a table and while we were getting our food sat someone else at our table, and then the next day we sat on the terrace where there wasn't the same service of coffee as indoors. Also there seems to be a hot tub in the pictures of the property. There isn't a hot tub. Overall I've been to 3 and 4 star hotels with much more class and elegance than this place, and would never recommend it to anyone who wants a stylish relaxing stay.

We love everything here. The hotel offered swimming pool and sauna room even in the winter. The breakfast is super good with a lot of ordinary options provided. The staff was polite and friendly. Everything is good!

The hotel itself is already a museum. It is a historic building. The room’s interior style was mixed both ancient and modern style. The view was amazing.

The lake view room which costs additional 40EURO does not have much lake view at all at 2nd floor. We try to switch to 3rd floor but the room has a bed that is making squeaking noise.

Dear Mrs./Mr. Xiao Thank you for sharing your experiences. However our hotel do not charge for the outside view. For instance 40€ is price for upgrade from "comfort" category, to "deluxe". Which would give you a room with more equipment, a Nespresso coffee machine for example. I am very sorry for the squeaking noise you had to endure from your bed.We are very old hotel, in an even older building, and squeaking occurs every once in awhile. Hence the reason why our maintenance is always ready to fix such issue as soon as we know about it. Very good location but not worth the money. Small room (we booked a deluxe room), the shower oscillates between warm and cold. They charge as a 4 star, but you get a 2 star hotel.

Dear MG Thank you for your remarks. I am sorry for troubles with your shower, inconsistent water temperature is just one of the issues we have to face in historical building. There is just no way the good city of Krumlov would allow us dig up half of the hotel situated in medieval monastery, for new plumbing. Wich is the reason why all our rooms (except disabled room) has bathtub as well as shower. Size of the room however is not dependent on your category. Thank you for your understanding. It is locater a few meters from the main square. Our room was a loft type and huge fit for 4 people. It is a medieval hotel with all the charm that fits this Unesco Heritage Town!

Nice hotel with rich breakfast, friendly staff. The hotel is located close to the city centre, it’s welness centre is fairly good whilst the view is great.

Don’t be put off by any first impressions; if I hadn’t already paid, on my first encounter of staff at this hotel, I would’ve left...so glad I stayed as things improved markedly after I had a little chat with some about just normal aspects of hospitality and service I’d receive in Australia in even the meanest of places... - however the town of Cesky Krumlov itself was a VERY interesting experience all round - especially the ‘Tourist Information Service’ in main square... Because it’s such a beautiful place and a tourist hotspot, 99% of ANY ‘service’ people don’t even try to help, show ANY cheerfulness or NORMAL aspects of concern for humanity and, in fact, are downright rude & even appear hostile to friendly tourists such as myself (a palliative care nurse!!). I’m so glad the place was beautiful, however, at my age and stage of life experience, I KNOW that, in ANY other part of the world, they would lose their jobs! - unless they’re related to the boss! I think the Mayor needs to do an accountability survey and change the fact that most English-Speaking tourists I spoke with - from China to India to Germany to USA to UK (& Australia & NZ) were just almost speechless with the roughshod way they were treated as people, let alone as tourists in a town where tourism is the lifeblood and MAJOR source of income for most people. As an objective parallel, instead of thinking you were at a Tourism Information Centre, you would think you were being registered for entry into prison!

A Day in Cheney Kromlov
We arrived late around 9pm and were all tired...the hotel lobby was quiet and we didn’t receive a particularly warm welcome from the lady reception. The elderly porter was particularly helpful despite not speaking a word of English! The rooms were generous and the hotel was lavishly decorated in a medieval manner. A genuine effort to give us visitors a taste of what it might have been to live in those days... Located towards the top of the valley, beautiful panoramic views from our rooms. A short and easy walk to the town Center had plenty of shops, little alleys and historical buildings to keep one preoccupied! They have their own parking service and facility.👍 We had a very interesting and memorable stay in Chesny Krumlov...

great location however staff unfriendly and in some cases just rude. Hotel caters for large groups with the result there is nothing personal about the experience. Terrace which could be a lovely place to sit ,relax and have a drink overlooking the river has limited shade and no waiter service. On a summers day it would have been nice to also be able to utilise this space to enjoy your breakfast. . Overall disappointed with the hotel and would consider alternatives smaller personal options in the area if I chose to visit again.
