The pub/hotel was good apart from the state of rooms 3 an 4 the towel rail in room 4 was hanging off the room was full of dust and cobwebs everywhere and not seen a vacuum seen god knows when same in room 3.at £80 a night plus breakfast included it would have been a good stay but these rooms need a proper good make over especially the bathroom, the food in hotel was very nice but again very over priced for a pub in these tough times ps all the staff were very nice and helpful

Very comforting
We have happily stayed here before but this time our visit was to attend a funeral. Yin and her team could not have been more helpful or caring (special mention to Jamie and Brian) and also provided delicious food for the wake. Only one thing to improve - whilst cleanliness is first class it is let down in the bathrooms by the state of the grout around the bath which looks mouldy. Even if it isn't it needs replacing.

Very good, lovely staff
Lovely stay whilst working locally, friendly staff, decent pub food on site, well kept drinks on tap. Only gripe, and being picky the shower lacked any oomph and was a little low and fixed in position, so was dancing round to get wet.

All is well
I was booked in for three nights and due to unavoidable circumstances I had to leave a day early. I fully realised that the monies were non-refundable but the lady I spoke to could not promise anything but she would enquire on my behalf if anything could be done. Later on Sunday she called and told me that the unused day would be refunded and so it proved. This was very much appreciated so ....thank you! Patrick Lester.

Very good hotel with rooms on ground floor. Food excellent. Not rrally suitable for wheelchairs as steps everywhere. Steep steps to rooms this could be fixed easily though. We did not have a wheelchair but still a struggle getting into room.

Staff very friendly & helpful. Plenty of parking in pub car park. Room clean with a very comfortable bed. Bathroom small and clean but functional despite a rather low ceiling. Good breakfast selection (continental and cooked). All very good. Although people in pub garden until 11pm chatting it was very quiet after this. We'll definitely stay again

the staff were really nice, friendly efficient. everywhere was nice and clean and spacious. Food was excellent, evening meal and breakfast. it was nice and quiet at night. The bed was comfy, very large. The only let down was the bathroom. The shower head would not stay in it's holder, so couldn't have a decent shower, and the floor was very wrong. We think it had been recently laid, but the underneath of the flooring was soft and squishy. There was also a lot of black mould around the tiles, and loads of spider's on the walls. We stayed there because we had an appointment at Harefield hosp early in the morning. The website stated 5 miles away, but it was actually 9 plus miles.

The White Hart at st Giles
The room was very clean with comfortable beds. The only criticism was that the room was exceptionally warm but the weather was very hot. This was room number 1, the other rooms seemed to be housed in a separate block.

Well managed, comfortable and an excellent menu.
The accommodaton was purpose built and separate from the main building. It was a very hot day and the downstairs room was mercifully cool. The bathroom was OK but needs refreshing. Some of the sealing was crude and even a bit black in places. However everything worked as it should. We were offered a downstairs location as i had indicated some disability; this was thoughtful. I brought my own shower stool but could have felt safer with a grab rail or two. The bed was very comfortable and although there were diners outside and fairly close we heard nothing. My wife could jst hear the upstairs occupant walking around and making the odd floorboard creak a bit. I heard nothing! The room decor was darkish and old fashioned and furniture basic and functional. Value for money was very good. Staff were excellent with a very efficient checkin. The dining experience was excellent. Wine was reasonably priced and the menu was imaginative and comprehensive and also very reasonably priced. The food was excellent, clearly a very able chef. We would stay again, but probably upstairs. The place was expertly and diligently managed.

Just stayed for one night, the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable, perfect for what we required. The staff were professional, attentive and friendly. The breakfasts we had in the morning were excellent and at £7.99 each fantastic value for money. I would recommend the Eggs Royale for a change from the Full English! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in the area. Also the Guinness was beautiful, always a winner with me!

Nice stay but tired accommodation
The friendly staff, easy booking-in, inclusive on-site parking, quietness and clean room were great. The food was good standard fayre and the tables were nicely spaced out. We stayed in 'Superior room' number 7 which was huge. The decor is quite dark and the lighting low, so not as welcoming as a bright room. The room was also cold when we arrived as it is heated by a wall electric heater - this was adequate for the room but took about an hour to make it a comfortable temperature. Once heated, you do not need to keep the heater on e.g. overnight, as the lodge style room retains the heat. Sadly, the room decor is rather tired and particularly in the Bathroom where there is flaking paint on the wall and sealant around the bath missing. The cover to the electric light above the sink was also missing with bare contacts open to the elements - not really very safe. The floor was also a bit strange in that it felt very spongy to walk on - I wasn't sure whether this was due to a lumpy underlay or whether the wooden floor had gone soft and was sagging. However, for the price, the room was adequate and had a huge comfortable bed.

A good find
Many positives - Matthew and his staff provided great, friendly service; the cleanliness was excellent and the food tasty. When we stayed builders were working on outside upgrades and could not do more to help minimise any disturbance. We had booked a superior room which we got but this was based on photos we had seen on line showing a walk in shower. The room was spacious overall however, the wardrobe was a very small cupboard with no lighting outside it and a big negative was the bathroom. We could accept it was small and that the shower was over a bath but despite the pristine bath and sink, at some point the bath panel and it's shelf had been removed. Gaps had been left, mastic not replaced, a rusty screw left sticking out and all of these gave a tatty, grubby appearance. This let down the efforts of the cleaning team. We reported this impression when we left to the lady on duty and she said that following the outside work the accommodation was to be upgraded but we feel that if this cannot be improved in the meantime this particular room (5) should not be offered as superior. That said we would certainly stay here again in a different room.

Believe room intended as twin bedded but converted to double bedded meaning only one bedside cabinet/light and very tight up to wall & radiator on opposite side! Would have preferred it was left as a twin.

A little cramped
The room was clean and quiet, set away from the road, but very cramped. The ceiling sloped down on two sides of the room, so you have to stoop to navigate your way to the wardrobe or bathroom. The room was very dark, and the lights seemed quite weak. There was a very effective radiator and towel rail.

Arrived at 4pm room wasn't ready. Old furniture, carpet needed a deep clean, no hospitality tray just a pot with milk,tea,coffee etc. Bathroom was a shocker mold in shower, shower ran from hot to cold, lots of dirt & grime on pipework. Mold on window frame and dripped condensation. This room was certainly not 3 star and we wondered if this was actually used for staff.

Absolutely fantastic service! It was the euros so the pub was busier than usual. Food was excellent by far the best Greene king we have eaten at. Evening meal and breakfast were cooked and presented perfectly! From the minute we arrived we felt like VIP's all the staff were friendly, efficient and capable especially jasmin, a couple of other team members shone out at breakfast but I didn't get their names. Management clearly run a great team. Description was a little misleading because there was no Bath which was a deciding factor for choosing the White hart and the shower room was prob the only let down as very small and height restricted but this negative was far overshadowed by the positives. Decor was nice with a very comfy bed and good quality duvet and pillows! All round a great stay.

Terrific value
The staff were enthusiastic and welcoming but the room was poorly lit and cold. And the plug in the sink broke, so i had to use a glass to keep the water in when fitting my contact lenses. However the price was very good for the area and the breakfast was good and included in the price paid. The manager did arrange for a heater to be placed in the room which definitely helped and has ordered a replacement plug. It is also a good pub with tasty food and I had eaten there before.
