“What a gem! Arrived in time for dinner and had a great meal. Staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our family room was clean and spacious with the beds made in a king and two singles configuration. The plug in fan a welcome addition during the heatwave. Tea/coffee and biscuits on offer in the room. Breakfast was delicious with a great assortment of cereals, white/seeded breads and preserves and various cooked options.”

“Stayed one night when attending a wedding in the castle. Can only recommend on my visit. Looked after by Cathy from arrival until breakfast next morning. Had dinner at Crown hotel a few mins from hotel and 10% discount on food was applied for hotel guests. Mind flash the key fob to let them know before the bill is on table. Lovely freshly cooked breakfast was served and tea/ coffee top ups were no trouble if asked for. Recommend the Kirkstyle if staying in the area.”

“Having parking was a huge benefit, the high street does get busy so knowing it wasn't going to be an issue is great. “Very disappointing. I paid £98 for a very basic twin room for 1 night. Only 1 bed was made up and room was clean but very dated, and the property and grounds have seen better days and are overall quite scruffy. No TV in room but was told I could watch TV downstairs if I wanted to. The shower didn't work properly - either scalding hot or dribbled out cold water. Sink took ages to drain, noisy radiator.
