We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey an enjoyable experience. Follow our tips and you'll be zooming through airport security and enjoying Atlanta before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, put in your passport, travel documents, credit cards and daily medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy novel and a laptop filled with your favorite movies are some great options. If you plan to catch forty winks, a quality neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, squeeze in a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll hop off the plane feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and poisons, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to be as comfortable as you can. Opt for a pair of flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural-fiber clothing and remember to bring a sweater in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- Most travelers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To minimize your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks or tights and keep your legs and feet moving.
