We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey a stress-free experience. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be speeding through airport security and having a ball in Battersea in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First of all, pack in your passport, official ID, bank cards and vital medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling book and a laptop crammed with your favorite movies are some great options. If you plan to catch more than just forty winks, a neck pillow and some noise-canceling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some deodorant so you'll touchdown looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and matches, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main priority is to feel as comfortable as you can. Go for a pair of flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural fibers and remember to take a jacket in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Make a point of walking around the cabin or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
