No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've planned ahead. We've made a list of handy hints that will help get your Billum vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First things first, put in your passport, travel documents, credit cards and daily medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy book and a phone filled with your favorite movies are some great options. If you intend to take a short snooze, a neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also be useful. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some facial wipes to ensure you hop off the plane looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and gasoline, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main concern when choosing what to wear on board. Loose clothing is a sensible option, as are flat, slip-on shoes.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Walk around the cabin and give your legs a stretch or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
