Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Carnago could be completely stress-free or it could go on forever. We've put together some handy hints that will help you start your next great escape on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a pleasure if you carry the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh set of clothes and a good book. Secondly, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, your medications and perhaps a neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to take your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and fuels, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of your airplane are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and remember to take a sweater as the temperature can drop inside the cabin during longer flights. Closed-toed, flat shoes are always a good idea too.
- The condition by the name of DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking around the cabin and doing regular foot and leg exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a pair of compression socks also helps reduce your risk.
