We've rounded up all the info you need to make your flight an enjoyable experience. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be speeding through the airport and having a blast in Chatham before you know it.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a comfortable experience if you bring the right stuff. First of all you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and something to read. Next, make room in your hand luggage for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any medications and perhaps a neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items can differ between air carriers, the general guide to follow is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, blades, fuels and bleaching agents. Sporting equipment like golf clubs, and items that could injure passengers, such as guns and swords, won't be allowed on board either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your number one priority is to feel as comfortable as you can. Don layers of breathable clothing and remember to bring a pullover in case it gets chilly in the cabin. Always opt for flat, well-fitting shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell during the journey. Leave the high heels and chunky boots in your checked baggage.
- A serious condition by the name of DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation. Walking around the cabin and doing regular leg and foot exercises while seated helps to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a quality pair of compression socks or tights is also a wise idea.
