Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're well organized. Follow these top travel tips that will help get your Dolce escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, put in your passport, important documents, wallet and vital medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling book and a tablet filled with your favorite shows are always good options. If you intend to catch up on some sleep, a neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll step off the plane looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and fireworks, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main aim is to be as comfortable as possible. Choose shoes that are easy to slip on and off, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to take a sweater in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
