Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're well prepared. We've made a list of handy hints that will get your East Prairie vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's easy — first, put in your passport, travel documents, wallet and vital medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling novel and a laptop crammed with your favorite movies are some wonderful options. If you intend to take a quick snooze, a neck pillow and some noise-canceling headphones will also be useful. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you'll hop off the plane looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a sharp object hiding in one of the compartments of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive substances, such as fuel and matches, and liquids and gels in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The key to a comfortable flight is often as simple as your choice in clothes. Prepare yourself for varying temperatures by layering up. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin starts to cool down. Shoes like sandals and heels are best left in your checked suitcase. Even though they may be your favorites, go for flat, closed-toed footwear like sneakers. Your feet will appreciate it.
- Unfortunately, a risk of flying long distances is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity. To prevent this, make the most of every opportunity to stretch your legs and walk around the cabin. Compression tights and socks are another simple way to help minimize this risk.
