Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well enough. Follow these handy tips that will get your Hale vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be easy if you've got all the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a clean pair of socks and a good novel. Secondly, make room in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, medications and maybe a cozy neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to take your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and gasoline, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and go for shoes that are enclosed, flat and easy to take on and off.
- Caused by prolonged periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot condition that can affect some passengers during long-distance flights. Reduce the risks by staying hydrated, keeping your legs and ankles moving and wearing compression socks to help your circulation.
