We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight an enjoyable experience. Follow our tips and you'll be cruising through the airport and enjoying Humphreys in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Traveling on a plane can be a pleasure if you carry the right things. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare change of clothes and a good book. Secondly, make room in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, any vital medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and gasoline, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- The answer to a comfortable flight can be as simple as your choice in clothes. Prepare for temperature changes by bringing layers. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin begins to cool down. Shoes like flip flops and heels are best left for other occasions. Instead, opt for flat, closed-toed footwear like sneakers. Your feet will thank you later.
- The condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity. Walking around the cabin and doing regular foot and leg exercises in your seat helps to prevent this occurring. Wearing a good-quality pair of compression socks also helps reduce your risk.
