We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey as enjoyable as possible. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be breezing through the airport and discovering Isabella in no time flat. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, put in your passport, travel docs, cash and vital medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling novel and a phone crammed with your favorite movies are some wonderful options. If you plan to take a short nap, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also be useful. Finally, make room for a few toiletry items to ensure you arrive feeling fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main aim is to be as comfortable as possible. Choose flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural fibers and don't forget to bring a sweater in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a potential risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
