Depending on where you're coming from, your trip to Morocco could be completely stress-free or it could go on forever. We've pulled together some useful tips that will help you start your next big adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:

• A plane trip can be a pleasure if you pack the right things. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a clean pair of socks and a few magazines. Next, find a spot in your bag for your electronic devices, chargers, your important medications and perhaps a neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.

Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:

• Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and strong acids, are also prohibited.

What to wear on a flight:

• Your priority is to feel as comfortable as possible. Go for a pair of flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural-fiber clothing and don't forget to take a pullover in case you get cold in the cabin.
• Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.

• Be sure to keep your ID and boarding pass close by. They'll be the first things you'll be asked for by security.
• The X-ray machine is up next. Remove anything metal on you that is likely to set off the scanner's alarm. This includes things like headphones or earphones, as well as heavy jackets or coats. They'll all need to go on the X-ray conveyor belt.
• Electronic devices like phones and laptops will also have to go on a tray to be scanned. Don't worry though, you'll be back online soon enough.
• Any liquids or gels, such as lip balm or cologne, that you want to take on board need to be in containers no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters). Also, everything must fit inside a quart-size (one liter), clear zip-lock bag.
• There's a good chance you'll need to remove your shoes to be X-rayed, so wearing slip-on sneakers is always a clever idea.
• Airlines won't allow any sharp items or pocket knives in the cabin. If you must bring these kinds of items, pack them safely in your checked luggage.
