We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey a stress-free experience. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be breezing through the airport and seeing the best of Parson in next to no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, put in your passport, travel docs, wallet and medications. Next, you'll need some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling book and a phone filled with your favorite shows are some wonderful options. If you intend to take a short nap, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you hop off the plane looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items differs between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, pocket knives, spray paint and flares. Sporting equipment like baseball bats, and objects that could injure passengers, such as pepper spray and firearms, are also banned from the cabin.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Dress in comfortable layers and go for shoes that are flat, enclosed and easy to pull on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
