Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well. We've compiled a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Principal vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, pack in your passport, travel documents, cash and daily medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling novel and a tablet filled with your favorite movies are some terrific options. If you intend to catch up on some sleep, a quality neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, find room for a toothbrush and some facial wipes to ensure you hop off the plane feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and strong acids, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to choose comfort over style. Prepare for temperature changes by layering up, and opt for flat, closed-toe footwear like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
