No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're prepared. We've made a list of handy hints that will help get your Quethiock escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, pack your passport, travel documents, cash and daily medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A thrilling novel and a phone crammed with your favorite shows are some wonderful options. If you plan to catch a few z's, a neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some facial wipes to ensure you step off the plane feeling fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your priority is to feel as comfortable as you can. Pick flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to bring a sweater in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
