Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well organized. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Tor Bay vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, put in your passport, important documents, wallet and daily medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling book and a phone filled with your favorite movies are some terrific options. If you intend to take a quick snooze, a neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some deodorant to ensure you arrive at your destination looking and feeling fresh.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a pocket knife lurking in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include explosive or flammable goods, such as fuel and matches, and liquids and gels in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of an aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and remember to bring a sweater as it can get quite cool in the cabin. Closed-toed, flat shoes are also a good idea.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long flights is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To prevent this, make the most of every opportunity to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs. Compression socks and tights are another great idea to help lower your risk.
