Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're prepared. We've put together a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Ust'-Koksa escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a pleasure if you pack the right stuff. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and a good read. Secondly, find room in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, your medications and maybe a proper neck pillow too. Lastly, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and gasoline, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by dressing in layers, and wear flat, enclosed shoes like slip-ons.
- Most travelers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To minimize your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks or tights and keep your legs and feet moving.
