Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well organized. We've compiled a list of top travel tips that will help get your Venasque vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a great experience if you carry the right things. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare pair of socks and a good read. Next, find room in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, any daily medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to take your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items differs between airlines, the general rule to follow is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes things like screwdrivers, blades, aerosol cans and flares. Sports equipment like ice skates, and objects that could harm passengers, such as pepper spray and firearms, aren't allowed in the cabin either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of your aircraft are not the place for a fashion parade. Layer yourself up with comfortable clothes and don't forget to bring a sweater as it tends to get cool in the cabin during long-haul flights. Closed-toed, flat shoes are also a good choice.
- Most of us have heard about DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of inactivity. There are plenty of ways to reduce your risk. Wear compression tights or socks, drink plenty of water and remember to keep your legs and feet moving. Walk around the cabin when possible or try out some exercises in your seat.
