If you're poorly prepared, airports and flying can be challenging. But there's no need to hit the panic button just yet. Follow these helpful hints for a stress-free start to your getaway in Moscow. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a cruisy experience if you carry the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, leave space in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, any medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to bring your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and strong acids, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to be as comfortable as possible. Choose flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural-fiber clothing and remember to take a jacket in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Most travelers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To lessen your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression socks and keep your feet and legs moving.
