Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've made a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Voka vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, pack your passport, official ID, bank cards and daily medications. Next, you'll need some entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling book and a tablet filled with your favorite movies are some great options. If you plan to take a short snooze, a quality neck pillow and some noise-canceling headphones will also be useful. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes to ensure you touchdown looking fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items differs between air carriers, the general guide to follow is nothing flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, blades, aerosol cans and bleaching agents. Sporting equipment like golf clubs, and items that could harm passengers, such as pepper spray and guns, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are no place for a fashion parade. Layer your clothing and choose shoes that are flat and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some simple exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
