- A plane ride can be a comfortable experience if you bring the right things. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and a good book. Secondly, find a spot in your hand luggage for your electronic devices, chargers, medications and maybe a cozy neck pillow as well. Lastly, remember to take your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and poisons, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main concern when choosing what to wear during your flight. Loose, breathable clothing is a wise option, as are flat, slip-on shoes.
- Caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect some passengers on long-distance flights. Reduce the risks by drinking water, keeping your lower limbs moving and wearing compression tights or socks.
