No matter where you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well prepared. We've made a list of essential travel tips that will get your Windeck vacation started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having a hassle-free flight experience is to pack in advance. So, let's start with the basics: passport, travel docs, bank cards and important medications. Next, take on board items that'll help while away those hours, like your laptop or a thrilling novel. You'll also want to bring your chargers, a quality neck pillow and a pair of earplugs. Finally, be sure to toss in toiletries like a toothbrush, deodorant and a clean set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won't be allowed on. Sharp objects, like your beloved Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as spray paint, flares and fuels, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should always be your prime concern when selecting what to wear on board. Consider your footwear with care too, as swollen feet and ankles are a common side effect of flying. Shoes which are flat and slightly roomy work well.
- Most of us have heard about DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of inactivity. There's lots you can do to minimize your risk. Don a pair of compression tights or socks, drink lots of water often and remember to keep your legs and feet moving. Do a lap or two of the cabin or perform exercises in your seat.
