Spending our night all alone at a Plantation was amazing. We felt very safe and secure in our own 1800's mansion. We enjoyed a glass of wine one the second floor porch in rocking chairs watching the sun set over the farm fields. The ladies made a delicious breakfast and provided a history of the property.

Historic place
This was a great getaway. It was historical and beautiful. The inn keeper cooked us breakfast told us stories and showed us around. She been working there for 42 years so she knows all history. Great place for family reunion or group of friends family friendly

Central Louisiana Gem!
Beautiful property! Quiet, clean and the staff was so sweet! If you're looking for a couples get away this is it. 30 min from casinos, 15 min from restaraunts, and a ton of history!

The history of the property was amazing. Miss Beulah was a gem. Very knowledgeable of the families that owned the place. Many great stories. Fantastic cook. The owners did a fantastic job of furnishing the place to the time period. Ghosts were a little scary when everyone left for the night

We loved our stay at Lloyd Hall. Everything was beautiful and had that old south charm. Our only hangup was the pool was green, which was kind of a bummer. Other than that no complaints. Ms Buela was the highlight of our stay. We will be back!

Hi Amy, I do apologize about the pool. It has been being nice and clear, however apparently the pool company have some newly hired workers that have not been educated about sweeping the pool. I have been in touch with them, and they are working to teach the new people how to properly clean the pool. We truly hope you will visit us again.

The check-in directions were clear and accurate. The swimming pool is the first amenity as you approach but it was dirty and uninviting. Opening the door to our building resulted in an overpowering strong musty odor. I understand that this is a historic property and really like that BUT there are ways to also mitigate the odor. There was no hair dryer as mentioned on the website. The kitchen sink drain was covered with garbage and the carpet was dirty throughout. Miss Buelah the Innkeeper was pleasant and informative. We wanted to support a local B&B but were forced to go to a beautiful hotel in nearby Alexandria for the same price.

Near to the interstate and easy to find. Checking in after hours was easy, they leave an envelope with the key in a box next to the office door. Being from the city, I was skeptical of this practice but it was totally fine! We stayed in the Commissary, which is one of two original side buildings. The inside was all modern and nicely done. We brought our dog and she enjoyed walking all around the grounds like it was her house! Even at midnight while letting the dog out in the dark I felt completely safe. The homecooked breakfast each morning was delicious! The tour of the house was informative and interesting. I love antique furniture and was not disappointed! Everything was so detailed and beautiful. And, having family members with mobility issues, it was refreshing to see they have installed a lift to access the 1st floor of the main house, which is where the breakfast is served, so everyone can be included. There is also a cottage with a ramp. It was nice to see. If ever in the area again we would definitely stay again. It would be a good jumping off location for a trip to Alexandria without staying in the city!

The property was Beautiful & we were very comfortable there. The Breakfast was Great and Miss Beaula was a Delight!! She cooked & served a delicious breakfast for us & then gave us a very interesting tour of the house. We really enjoyed our stay there & will return!!

Wonderful setting, tranquil and beautiful. Sat on the veranda for hours listening to songbirds and enjoying the evening. Plantation breakfast and tour by Ms. Beulah was delicious and entertaining. We did not personally experience any paranormal activity, but heard the ghost stories.

Great Place
This place is awesome, but only if you like quite and isolated place to relax and unplug. Mrs. Buehle is a great host her breakfast is crazy good, all most hurt myself eating. Would highly recommend!!!!!

No one was here when we checked in. As a matter of fact, we were all alone on the property our entire night! No one greeted us. I haf to call and was told our key was in an envelope outside the office door. Being that this is a haunted house, made the stay that more creepy. We were served a nice hot breakfast in the morning and then left.

The staff was really friendly and had extensive first hand knowledge of the properties history. This made for a very enlightening experience! The breakfast was delicious and filling. the pool pump did not work. Pool was filthy. The food was terrible. The room was filthy. The fire alarm did not work. There was no fire extinguisher. The door knob fell off. The walls were peeling off is paint. The water would not pass health care inspection. There is little or no safe drive way. We will never stay there again.

It always is a very peaceful stay. The wifi may not always work because you are in the middle of the country but the stay is pleasant and wonderful. Old time cooking and old time living. Ms. Beulah is the best!! She cooks you breakfast in the morning and makes me feel welcome and at home whenever I visit. Ill always pick Cheneyville when I want a piece of southern hospitality.
