Fabulous one night stay at The Grosvenor Lodge. Staff were fantastic, very friendly, personable and welcoming.
The breakfast (included) was a great continental selection.
We were in the quad room at the very top. It was a very quiet place to stay and our family of four were comfortable enough. The bathroom was small and slightly awkward (being a loft room) and the shower could've been larger / more powerful.
All in all a great stay and will definitely visit again.
The facility it’s self is excellent, comfortable and spotless but the neighbours leave a lot to be desired, police and ambulance out until late due to youths screaming and fighting next door and spilling into the road
The Lodge room was fantastic - spacious and clean. The bathroom is superb with a large tub. Breakfast was beautiful also with very friendly service, all highly recommended!
staff lady in charge was very helpful and charming. Iron on the landing was handy as I had an event to attend and outfit needed an iron! Loved the fact that we could use the dining room and crockery and cutlery in the evening. That is really unusual and meant we could bring back our fish and chips one evening and enjoy them in peace. The whole place is absolutely spotless. Comfy beds
As someone that’s always stayed in chain hotels I thought I would give something different a try and I am so happy I did! The hospitality was incredible and felt so personal and homely. The room was beautiful and everything inside was high quality. The place has a real family feel without losing any of the cleanliness and professionalism of a chain hotel. I come to Dorset yearly so you have gained a new customer! Thanks again for everything.
Lovely and clean. Very tasteful decor. Lots of thoughtful touches - take away cup in room in case you wanted a drink on the move; towels in a lovely basket on chair on arrival. Breakfast very tasty and beautifully presented.
Shower room very small, would be helpful to have instructions on use of shower, also would be helpful if we knew we could use cutlery and plates on arrival
But very lovely continental breakfast and staff were helpful and friendly
Booked for two nights, double room - pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a mini suite (Room 4, ground floor). Very handy as I am disabled. Amazing quality, touches to detail, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Continental breakfast was fab (ham, cheese, smoked salmon, cereals, croissants, milk, OJ etc - all high quality). No hesitation in HIGHLY recommending Grosvenor Lodge x
This was a lovely place to stay. Check-in was easy, and the house was a quick walk from the train station. There was a lovely little welcome package when we arrived, and the room was clean, spacious and tastefully furnished. We were within a quick walk to pubs and restaurants, and the nearby historic priory. Would definitely recommend!
Needed somewhere to stay to attend a festival. Really glad I choose this place to stay. A little to my surprise, it was a 10min walk to the venue. Clean and tidy throughout. Had a delicious full english breakfast each morning, and pot of lovely tea. Staff were very friendly, and eager to help. My single was small, but all you really need, a bed, a shower, somewhere to put your clothes was there. Bed was comfortable, surroundings nice and quiet. Would happily stay there again.

Nobody at receiption to greet you , when I rang the doorbell no-one came to greet us or tell us how to get in our room.
When the owner did arrive after a couple of phone calls we did see the notice on the door with instructions on how to enter our rooms. By that time the housekeeper arrived from a sleep by was very difficult to communicate with as her Engish was very poor.
The room was a good size with a comfortable bed.
The coffee machine in our room was no good as you could not get the mugs under the machine to accept the coffee coming out. I was expecting an English breakfast but only continental was available although it was of a good standard. The bedroom was very cold as the radiators were only luke warm and the extra electric heater was not sufficant to cope with the high ceilings.
Lovely guest house in a good location for visiting the local area. Although no cooked breakfast available, breakfast was plentiful, varied and fresh - very enjoyable, staff were friendly when we saw them. Only negative is we had the quadruple room which is located in the loft, a well appointed room, however, the a/c unit was ineffective and couldn’t cool the room on what was a warm evening. The small skylight window in the bathroom and a small window in the main bedroom could be opened for air-flow, however, given the main road location, road noise meant we had to close the windows. Had we not had the foresight to bring a couple of portable fans with us, we’d have struggled to sleep. A more powerful a/c unit installed and all will be fine. Shower was a cheaper electric shower unit but it did the job. Overall, a pleasant 1 night stay and somewhere we’d come back to if visiting in the area again.
Stayed with our daughter for the weekend. The property was lovely. Really clean and tidy with a freshness smell as you walked in.
The head housekeeper was really friendly and helpful. They made their own croissants, bagels and yoghurt for the guests.
We stayed in the family room in the roof. It was spacious and the beds were comfortable.
Will be back next time we are staying in Christchurch.
