“This property has a lot to offer as a bed and breakfast option. Strandhill is a charming seaside resort with a definite surfer vibe. The services not offered by the hotel are easily accessed nearby. The reception staff were very helpful. The issues that prevented me from giving a five star review were the badly worn carpet in the bedroom and the 3 minute 'make-up' service.”

“Wonderful stay at Glenlo Abbey! The grounds and hotel are beautiful. We were upgraded to a one bedroom Lodge room. Access to the living room, kitchen and laundry were a bonus. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff here are wonderful, friendly, informative and attentive. The Palmer restaurant is very nice and the food delicious. A ride into the city center of Galway was about ten minutes. We couldn’t have had a better stay. ”

In addition, excellent rooms and facilities, great food (e.g., best seafood chowder I've ever had) and central location with all shops within short walking distance. Though I was on a business trip, I had time to admire some of the beauty of Co. Mayo and fell in love with it. ”
