Staff were excellent. Room faced onto very noisy street at night ( car racing) & unfortunately hotel undergoing renovations ( jack hammers, builders noise). We were advised of this AFTER our booking was made

A good tourist class hotel in a great location. Room staff for very good. Desk staff good as well. I really like staying here when I am in Sydney. This time I was a little disappointed that they did not reply to my message via expedia about an early check-in. This meant that they only told me at the front desk that it cost an extra $50. Also when they told me, would give me any idea if they anticipated to have any rooms available otherwise. No intrinsic problem with being charged for an early check-in. I would have been happier about it if the hotel had responded to my message to give me a chance to plan my day. Also, other hotels have given some warning e.g. "The hotel is fully booked and quite a few people have asked for early check-in" or "You should be Ok by about 1pm, but I can't promise that" instead I got the poker-face and "otherwise check-in is at 3pm."
