"We had a cute hotel room with VERY comfortable bed. But it’s an old hotel with lots of quirks.
There was even a jetted soaker tub — but it was set up high with a step up; even my 18-year-old found it hard to get in! Thank goodness there was a grab bar.
We were on the 3rd floor with no elevator, so definitely not accessible for all.
Parking was in a shopping lot across the street; there were reserved hotel spots, but small signs weren’t at all obvious (even after circling the block). Luckily we checked in just before 6 p.m., so I could ask where to park.
But surprisingly, there is no hotel staff after 6 p.m.! This meant 1 of us had to stay in the hotel to let the other in when we needed something from the car. (I overheard another hotel guest who had been planning to meet her boyfriend at a restaurant change plans so she could let him into the hotel with takeout food.) I don’t recall a warning in Expedia about this, although I did get a note in my inbox about making arrangements to get a code to get in if checking in after 6.
Meanwhile, we couldn’t use the wifi, because the password written down on the key holder was unintelligible (i.e., was it a 4, a 9, or a u; we each tried several combinations but didnt get it right.
So overall, a fun stay for those who like older properties, and a super good night’s sleep.
But definitely some limitations to be aware of, particularly if you like to dine out or explore the town after 6 p.m."
