“Coming to Shipshewanna, we booked a room at Essenhaus Inn because our usual hotel was totally booked. I cannot begin to say how much we enjoyed our stay in the atrium! From the friendliness to the cleanliness...from the free brunch to the free "afternoon" cookies...we were really impressed. Next trip to Shipshewanna will find us staying at the Essenhaus Inn again!”

“They treat you like guests not just customers. We have been here 3 times so far and looking forward to our next visit From check in to check out they make sure you are happy. Pool was lovely. Hot tub perfect No complaints at all.”

“The exterior of the buildings looks a little “tired” HOWEVER the room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was very helpful and the included breakfast was well stocked. We were surprised by the free fountain soda in the lobby available 24hrs. I’ve never seen that. I would definitely stay here again!”

“Room was spotless. Property was well maintained. Front desk staff was friendly and kind. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing!”

“We were not happy at all with the room. The bed was so high we could not get on it. Could not relax in any way because it was either the bed or 2 wooden chairs. Carpeting was not clean. This was not very accommodating at all for 2 people in their 80's.”

“The room wasn’t exactly clean looking, the floor was sticky and had a lot of weird black spots all over it. We were put on the first floor because the elevator was broken and were immediately told the poo laws closed for maintenance. A lot of the breakfast appliances were broken too.”

“Overall, we had a good stay. Check—in was unique. The rooms were spacious with very good furnishings. The bathroom floor seemed less than 5 star. Except for some nice area rugs in the two main rooms the floor was a finished concrete. On the upper level, and with only 11 rooms, there was minimal noise!
