The headboard on the bed had large, disturbing stains in the fabric. The buffet was large and had many offerings providing a variety of breakfast options. They do not provide coffee in the room, only tea. I suspect this a tacit agreement with the Starbucks Reserve in the lobby to draw in guests. Not a huge problem, unless you wake up early because Starbucks does not open until the mid-morning (traditional Korea start times).

This hotel was good maybe 10-years ago. Currently, the overall facility is too old and I cannot find the care about the room condition. It's not bad, but I won't stay here going forward.

Staff are nice and they provide 4 free water bottles in the room. The negatives are that guests aren't able to control the temperature (it was set at 26 degrees Celsius/79 degrees Fahrenheit in April). They have a small window that we can open to let some air in to cool down but no screen so bugs can easily fly in. Also, there are no plug-ins by the bed so you'll have to charge your phone far away from you when you sleep.

Boiler was being replaced which caused rust water. This was not told at chk in n no notices in the room. Staff was also unaware n could not adequately explain nor adjust. Its management’s fault for not communicating to staff n guests

Ii strongly recommend u to choose other accommodations unless u have to stay close to this area. Even motel can be a better choice at some point. All the furnitures are old and broken, the mattress is worn off, and the fridge is filled with old stacked ice.... and so on. Worst hotel ever....

Charming hotel
Very charming historical hotel in an older neighborhood. Service was excellent. Convenient location right in front of the station. More than adequate for business stays but don't expect anything fancy.

Decent stay with some hiccups
Bed was comfortable and room was generally clean. Starbucks reserve located in lobby was a plus. The bathroom reeked of cigarette smell and had some leaky pipes. Price was good.

Cozy and simple
The Grand Hotel is a decent spot to stay near the center of Daegu.It's a clean hotel with friend employees. The room was just enough for the price. Listed cable channels are not all available. Some of the main room lights did not work, but was sufficient. It's decent a spot, i would go back again.

Nice gym. Cafe is good.
Nice stay. Gym was very well equipped for a hotel. Be careful with the floors, even if they have barbells, don't drop or do deadlifts. Room was adequate.

This was a nice hotel, once. The original construction standards were quite good. However, it appears to have been neglected of late. The curtains were stained and the bathroom door jamb, which had been broken at some point, was simply nailed back into place without an attempt to hide either the nails or the break. The bed was comfortable and clean. The hotel was mostly empty when we were there in December, so maybe its not generating enough revenue to keep up.

I have to move twice to get clean room First room with unchanged pillows and blanket Second room with not cleaned desk so i have to call service team to clean and after that i open blanket and it was unchanged again so this point i just give up and sleeping on smaller bed luckily it was cleaned. I won't go there anymore going back to my other hotel. L

We were the invisible guests!!!!
Not a 5 star hotel. I say we were invisible as none of the staff spoke to us, even on check in no details were taken, no passports required, no credit card for extras.....which I find unusual. If we wanted a cab we had to hail it. Poor local knowledge, what we did ask was incorrect. The doors to the rooms slam constantly throughout the night...very bad design so noisy. The gym is nice and bed very comfortable and bathroom nice, but no hospitality......very disappointed when we came in at night no staff on reception which I would expect in a hotel like this. None of the staff in the foyer or reception would speak it was bizarre. Not what I would expect especially as not cheap.

Stunning discomfort in an overheated room
Earlier reviewers warned me, but I didn't listen! There is NO AIR CONDITIONING, ONLY HEAT. We called the janitor, he fiddled a bit and said to close the window; he did not know how to turn on any fan. We figured out the ceiling fan ourselves and opened the window. But the room noise, facing a 10-lane city street, was cacophonous, so we closed the window. By morning, the temperature was 31degrees. It was quiet, but stunningly hot. I reported that to the front desk: "sorry" was all they would say. The hotel is otherwise decently maintained but clearly an old dowager, with minimal services -- perhaps it survives on wedding business. We stayed here because of friends in the neighborhood, but I would still recommend: Find Another Place. If you must stay here, insist on a room that faces Away from the street.

Near subway. Lots of coffee shops nearby.
Staff was very friendly. Only had a problem that no lights when I went into the room. Someone in the hall let us know to put your room key in the holder to turn on the lights. Beds were comfortable, but the room was too hot. Found out you can open window with electric buttons on side of window ( behind drapes). This help some. Didn't eat at the hotel but it look very nice. Rooms had hot water maker but no tea or coffee. Our train wasn't till late afternoon and they held our bags why we toured the city

Nice hotel in a good location
The Grand Hotel is a nice clean hotel conveniently located in Daegu. It is very close to the Beomeo subway stop (exits 5 and 3 are very near to the front door). The neighborhood is clean, safe, and there are places to eat nearby. There is even a grocery store just a couple of blocks away. The internet access is excellent in the rooms. Our one dislike was that we could smell someone smoking even from inside our room.

Nice place to stay
The Grand Hotel is a nice hotel located conveniently near the Beomeo subway stop. (Exit 3 or 5 are very close to the hotel's front door) There are plenty of places to eat nearby and even a grocery store around the corner. Downtown Daegu is just 3 subway stops away. It is a clean hotel, however, the smell of someone smoking permeated even to inside our room. The surrounding neighborhood felt safe even in the evening. We would stay here again.

Entrance into the hotel was very luxurious, but that is where it stopped. parking was not readily available. When I asked the staff for assistance, valet or minor amenities such as an iron or laundry service, I was told that it was too expensive. Really? The room service was prompt but the "gourmet" meal that was served, seemed to have the air of a frozen tv dinner reheated. I was not impressed. The location was very convenient, however the adjacent shops and stores made the hotel seem very much out of place. The deluxe room was small (large objects in a small space) and the carpeted floor resembled a pet room with a bad shampoo job completed. I would not recommend this place if you are looking forward to an extended stay (2 or 3 nights). If you are traveling and looking for a place to bunker down for the night, this may be a good choice; but this is not a 4 star hotel.

Not the Best Pick for Daegu
It's hard to find a hotel in Korea where the beds are "American style." Most mattresses here are rock hard and quite uncomfortable. The front desk had no concept of mattress cover, instead bringing us additional blankets. The location is not great for Daegu. The hotel is far from most of the best attractions and walking districts.

It is comfortable with good location but food/ cleaning cloth prices are too high. I do not mind paying a little higher but not too high and I rather dine and use facility outside of the hotel.

Good stay in Daegu
The Grand is a good place to stay. The location close to the metro and all of Daegu's very good transport make traveling round this interesting city very easy.

Would DEFINITELY choose this hotel again. EXCELLENT!!!
The hotel was awesome in every way. Near the subway (which is very easy to navigate in Daegu), near a foreign ATM for getting cash in won, near great restaurants for delicious juk (a Korean porridge) and more coffee shops than you'd find in Seattle. The room as plug for computer plug in and free Internet plug in as well.
