โRooms were great, exceeding expectations considering its location in the countryside and cheap price.
However, the owner should not be so aggressive about inconveniences caused by guests.
If he thought we were too loud in our rooms, the owner should have simply said so.
Barging in to our room without any warning or properly announcing himself(he just opened the door and came in his bathrobes) was unacceptable. Proceeding to then waving/pointing the end of his walking stick at his guests' faces...
โI was visiting Forres for a work event and needed a hotel nearby. The Carlton was lovely. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming; check in was a breeze. The room was super clean and had all the amenities you needed. The bed was excellent and very comfy. Would thoroughly recommend this excellent hotel which is great value for money.โ
โWe were initially very tensed as we are going to Europe for first time. Communicated with the owners (Karen & George), they were very friendly and eased our anxiety. Karen met us after we checked-in and she was very friendly and helpful. My wife and daughter liked the glamping area very much, its safe. โThe lodge is beautiful in very peaceful area, it was very clean with everything we needed. We used it mainly for a base as we were traveling so only really slept there. The lodge is situated between 2 other properties and would benefit ( Iโm my opinion) with blinds on all lower windows.

โVery highly recommended. The hotel has had a spruce up since I was last here and she's looking lovely. Very comfy beds and powerful shower with nice products. Great spa. Food and cocktails both delicious. Everyone super friendly and helpful. With local people coming in to use the pool or have a drink at the bar, it feels like part of the town as well rather than just a tourist enclave. We will be back. โ
