We would like to have refrozen our ice packs so that we could buy food for a picnic lunch and keep it all cool but only discovered that we could do this by chance and when it was too late. Clean and tidy room but one clean towel had an old brown stain on it. Bathroom needs updating in the Club bedroom and get rid of the shower...

“Driving up to the hotel, it looked disappintingly like a low end budget hotel....i see now why the first image on expedia was of the attached Carriages Restaurant. On this particular visit, the land close by was being developed... cant hear anything, but the view from the room looked out towards the construction site. Carpet along the hallways was dated. Room itself was good but more attention needs to be paid to dusting.. there were threads of spider web in the coffee cups.. Air...

“We received a very warm welcome from Lin and, for the one night that we stayed, we found the top floor bedroom cosy, well equipped and immaculately clean. The freshly cooked breakfast was very tasty. We enjoyed our stay.”

“Very poor 'welcome' from the receptionist. She seemed miserable and dis-interested. She also could not find our pre-booked details initially and then when she did, tried to charge us an additional £75 even though we had paid in full. On the plus side, the room was very good. Very clean, comfortable bed and a good shower. Only two teabags on the tray, which was either an oversight or just a bit mean.”

My room for instance was small with the sink in the main bedroom whilst the loo and shower were in the en suite but that was fine as I was by myself. “Hotel is of the older variety in expansive grounds service was good and staff helpful. If you are traveling there be VERY VERY aware that main drive into hotel grounds is almost undrivable and hotel should advise all guests of this the rear entrance is bad but easily navigated. I inadvertently took rear entrance on way in (missed turn off gps immediately redirected to rear entrance) when I left I took the only other route out and didnt think I was going to make it out.
