โBeautiful historic hotel from the late 1800โs in a small easily walkable western town. Nice clean rooms, well kept building.
Great bars and restaurants all over.โ
โIn all the years I have stayed at the First Gold, if I arrived early and my room was ready, I could check in. This trip, they were strict on the 3pm check in. I realize they were short on housekeeping staff, but they could have checked to see if my room was ready. I think it would cut down on the long line at check in. โ
โIt was in a quiet location with a running brook. Offered trolley to downtown. Very comfortable beds. Cinnamon rolls were fabulous! Would stay here again.โ
โWhat friendly staff, such a change to be treated like a guest ๐they even had fresh coffee in the morning!
The onsite restaurant was a little pricey and on the slow side. To get to the heart of historic downtown they say they offer a shuttle but it was very off schedule and not reliable. We used a cab and it wasnโt too expensive.

โThe staff was very friendly. Being at the top of Main Street gives you lots of options in terms of shopping and dining. The rooms have been remodeled and are beautiful.โ
โBreakfast was perfect, quiet and all top notch continental breakfast foods. Friendly staff we met at the hotel and next door restaurant. Only difficulty for my husband was the slick tub with no grab rail.โ
โThis place is close to everything and far enough away to not be affected by the busyness that is Lead and Deadwood. I love being near the woods and mountains but where it is quiet and peaceful. This is a no frills, down to earth kind of place and I love it! โ
โThis little motel is fabulous! It's so clean and the hosts are very friendly. The bed was comfortable and all amenities provided. There's a beautiful little creek behind the motel and cozy gliding rockers to sit and enjoy the sounds of the babbling brook going by. I wish I could have stayed longer and I will definitely be back.โ
