"Das Hotel und das zugehörige Restaurant waren - trotz Reservierung für beides - geschlossen! Keine Info weil man uns angeblich nicht erreichen konnte. Weder Mail noch Telefon oder Handy zeigen Versuche. Immerhin hat man uns notdürftig empfangen und untergebracht. Dafür ein "Danke schön". Zum Abend haben wir unseren Reiseproviant verspeist. Den Abschluss unseres Sommerurlaub haben wir uns ganz anders vorgestellt. Aber wir hatten nach 760 km auf der Autobahn keine Lust auf Suche nach einem Lokal....

"A very clean hotel, and parking is available for €14.90 per night at P2 under the building (free entry and exit during your stay). You will need to because it is 25-30min walk to the city center. However, the swimming pool is incredibly poorly organized. The lady at the reception couldn't explain in English how it worked. The hotel DOES NOT have a pool. The hotel is about 9 minutes walk from the Metz railway station, but some road maintenance work is doing around the hotel which made it a little bit inconvenient to walk around. Hotel staff were polite & nice, air conditioning was good & quiet, breakfast with lots of choices. I definitely recommend this hotel & will stay again in the future.

Disappointing considering the cost.

The Novotel in Metz was one of the more expensive hotels we have stayed in on our European tour. It is not as classy as we had expected and the decor in the room was dated especially the textured white walls. The plugs in both the sink and shower did not drain well and smelt. The bed was comfortable and pillows fluffy. There is an outside pool but it is very busy with children and not very big. The price of the hotel was not reflected in the stay. The underground parking is shared and smells like a public toilet, payable at the time of leaving.
