“This hotel is horribly run. I reserved 2 nights on Expedia only to get there and the hotel staff to tell me they had no record of my booking. The room had not been cleaned or readied for guests because they were not expecting a guest. I had to call the owner who supposedly lives in Austria, made an international call for that and he was very dismissive of the situation and offered no help. One of the managers actually told me that they were not listed on Expedia and someone else must have...

“You actually get what you paid for. I was looking for affordable lodging for six nights and it didn’t meet my expectations. The environment is clean and the staff wonderful. The amenities were bad. Kept changing WiFi password every day . There were no outlet in the bathroom and the bed sheets and covers were extremely bad. The breakfast was policed by staff and served in a minimal quantity.”

This kind of situation is far too common and often feels like a deliberate way of shortchanging customers. I wasn’t pleased, and I made it clear that I would have gladly tipped more than the amount withheld. Service providers can and should do better. Customers shouldn’t have to ask for their exact change, no matter how small”
