"Lovely location, property is well designed but needs updating in its overall conditions i.e grouting in bathrooms and fixtures. "Our room had an amazing view of the water and mountains. We were across the way from the bus station to the Northern Lights bus tour. Shopping and dining walking distance. The complimentary breakfast is a feast with different preparations of salmon which I especially enjoyed. The hotel breakfast beats going out to breakfast!"

The concierge helped us get round trip tix on the daily Hurtigruten/Havila fjord cruise (part of their Norwegian coastal journey has them come into Alesund in the AM and then go down the fjord and back to Alesund that evening). "Awesome place to stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner is served which is a plus since restaurants are so expensive. The dinner varied everyday but the breakfast was the same-which was still good. The rooms are small but to us that was not important since we are not in a the room all day. "Best value for money in the area. The rooms are efficient, location is convenient, and cafe is solid. There is even an ironing room on the 7th floor, which I ended up using on my last evening. As a runner, I valued quick access to the fitness center at an affiliate hotel, running path along the water (Akershusstranda), and Smoothie Xchange in Byporten—all within 400 meters (.25M) of the Comfort Hotel Xpress Central Station. Staff were the best, knowledgeable about the area and personable. Matias provided recommendations that I hadn't previously found in my research, and Julia and Evelina seemed to learn my morning routine—down to the coffee. "
