Depending on where you're coming from, your trip to Tallinn could be a piece of cake or it could go on forever. Here are some handy hints that will help you start your next great adventure on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you take the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want some toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh set of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, leave space in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, medications and maybe a cozy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items differs between airlines, the general guide to follow is nothing sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes knives, scissors, aerosol cans and flares. Sports equipment like hockey sticks, and objects that could injure passengers, such as firearms and ammunition, are also banned from the cabin.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your main priority is to be as comfortable as possible. Opt for a pair of flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural-fiber clothing and don't forget to take a pullover in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
