"The shower did not function to full capacity. There was just a light steam of water coming out of shower head. We heard other guest saying the same with their showers as well. Was given a number to call for cmplaints but nothing was done to solve the situatiuon."

"First of all when we checked in, my husband was informed we'd been put in a "pet room." We did not ask for a pet room, and did not want one, but the hotel clerk said that was what we got. She gave my husband two coupons to use in the bar, restaurant, or gift shop. We immediately noticed a smell when entering the room. Then, a dog began barking down the hall. "What did we get ourselves into?" I wondered. I called the front desk several times before anyone answered. I asked how we could use the coupons in the restaurant if the restaurant was closed. "You can use them in the gift shop for snacks and such," the woman replied. My husband went to the gift shop which was actually the front desk area, and asked the woman why we were put in the pet area of the hotel when we had no pets. "You got what was left because you didn't book directly with us. You booked through Expedia, so you can either stay in what's left or leave," the woman said curtly. Our room smelled of wet dog; the hallway smelled, too. A dog would bark repeatedly whenever someone walked down the hall past it's door. The bathroom was old, with a large wet spot on the ceiling where the paint was bubbling. The towels had strange yellow stains like they'd been used to mop up dog urine. The sheets on the bed were rough, and the pillows were so hard and uncomfortable. It was terrible! I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone."

"Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Beds were incongruous… one bed was very comfortable, while the other had a less comfortable, very springy-like mattress, but acceptable. Nice to have a microwave and mini refrigerator. Clean bathroom with adequate space and counters. Coffee & ice by the lobby was convenient. Front office staff was fairly friendly. AC/Heat & Fan unit easy to operate. The only negative was the strong smell of cleaning product (like Pine-Sol) that was eminent and noticeable during our entire stay (maybe somewhat less noticeable on Day 2, but still present). Would recommend highly, due to comfort, cleanliness, and cost!!"

"An hour after checking in, and during Kent State University graduation weekend, the hotel suffered a power outage. I understand this is a regular occurrence that usually resolves in a few hours. However, when I checked out the next day, power was still out. Third floor hallway was dark, had to use my phone light to find my room (power in my room worked). Strangely, the microwave in my room started buzzing with the glass table circling inside, only way to get it to stop was to unplug it. Elevators didn't work, had to use the stairs. The staff was phenomenal managing a very difficult situation."

"I went to the SPEAKEASY bar attached to the property at 11:50pm only to find out it was "last call" and they closed at midnight, on a Saturday! I wish I had known that as that was the catalyst for spending over 200.00 for a one night stay in Akron. Also, when taking a shower, the hot water pipes were shaking so bad and making a shrill sound, like the pipes were going to burst behind the tile, I had to cut my shower short as it was at 7:00am on a Sunday morning and thought I would wake up the guests next to me. Not up to Hilton standards in my opinion. It will take a lot to have me stay there again!"
