"I enjoyed my stay here, and found the room adequate, and the grounds pleasant enough. I enjoyed the fact that it was right next-door to a Denny’s, and if I go back, I will definitely try out Denny’s. But I probably will skip this hotel next time, because it is not as close to the University of Texas area as I would like to be. It’s also very near the freeway, which means it’s less enjoyable to stroll outside. Otherwise, not a bad choice."

"Well, I understand a downtown room to be expensive and to be a small space, this room was lacking in basic amenities. There was no waste basket in the room itself; the light switches were all modern and cleverly designed, to impress. However, they were also mysterious and difficult to operate until you knew how; and even with all the light fixtures turned on, the room was very dark. I have limited vision and I was very uncomfortable. it was a very small room – did I mention that? But surely there could’ve been room in there for a chair at least to sit in, or a folding luggage rack. Instead, one had nowhere to sit, but on the bed, which is unacceptable. To deal with my luggage, I dragged this piece of furniture underneath the bathroom sink out into the room so that I could put my suitcase on something. This gave about 8 inches of clearance between that shelf unit and the toilet. I managed, but it was not at all ideal. I had no idea, also, that there would be a street party down the block right in front of the hotel. Fortunately, the Music did not reach me on the sixth floor, but there is also some kind of construction going on all along the front of the hotel. The result is a crowded check in and checkout out area. I suggest the hotel review its prices for a room without a trashcan. I suggest also the hotel review it policies on lighting those rooms because they’re dark and it’s depressing. It’s too bad also because the design could be terrific. But it wasn’t."

"I enjoyed my stay at the Cambria Austin Downtown. The location is one of its biggest strengths — it’s close to several parks and green spaces, including the trails along Lady Bird Lake, which are just a short walk away. It’s also very convenient to the highway, making it easy to get in and out of the city without hassle. Because it’s near the Rainey Street and downtown bar areas, there is some noise at night, but the neighborhood still feels safe and walkable, even for solo travelers. If you want to be close to the action, this is a great spot. Valet parking is very expensive, but it’s also extremely convenient if you don’t want to deal with downtown parking yourself. Overall, the hotel is modern, clean, and comfortable — a good place to stay if you want easy access to Austin’s parks, nightlife, and major roads."
