“The property is your typical Victorian BnB and only a block back from the Promenade. The staff were very polite and attentive and the included breakfast was good. The rooms are surprisingly spacious, although as is typical for buildings this old the walls and ceilings are pretty thin. If you're a light sleeper, you might want to bring earplugs. “My experience was very good if not excellent. Parking was a bit tricky as it’s a public parking and Mon-Fri 8am to 6pm restriction means you have to move your car every 2 hours, but if you’re spending the day out visiting places then parking restriction is not a worry.”

“The Melrose is similar to other Manx B&B I have used, The property while looking tired and dated is adequate for my type of stay. The Host Peter makes the difference here, very amiable, very helpful, interested in talking to you, serves a cracking full English breakfast, piping hot with great quality ingredients, great coffee too. The room was refreshed every day with tea and coffee etc, plenty too, TV is BBC only tho, bed was really comfy, would I stay again, too right I would, if it works out...

“Our family of 4 was split across 2 rooms due to their smallish size, but it was still a great bargain compared to other options. The hotel is conveniently located for several pubs and restaurants as well as the promenade, beach, electric railway, and horse trams. It's not too far from the ferry terminal, and we made it just fine by walking. Would recommend staying here.”

“Central location, close to bus stops, Cindy the host was lovely and our stay lived up to all the previous reviews we read. Lovely clean room, nice bed, quiet street, had our own kitchenette and living room and bathroom, it was pretty much like renting a whole apartment but cheaper! We felt like we had moved house and it was our own apartment! Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone! ”

“A very pleasing stay the only downside was the 4 flight's of stairs to get to the room. The toilet seat was loose and a few things in the rooms needing improving like the kitchen lino that wasn't laid properly but above all a nice hotel with great views of Douglas Harbour.”
