Suzanne & Clara are doing an outstanding job running the show, the hotel is in the process of changing ownership so there is no bar or restaurant at the moment. Breakfast is awesome though & they provide a list of various takeaways in the area for delivery , you can bring in your own drink . Would heartily recommend here as it's a proper old fashioned traditional hotel, which bye the way was used by the Monty python team when filming The Holy Grail movie and was also the inspiration for Fawlty Towers, due the the then eccentric owner, ( the locals all know him ) .

It's just a proper old fashioned hotel, keeping all its traditional features making it a comfortable relaxing stay, on the down side, the bar & restaurant is closed ( due to being going through a new ownership handover) but apart from that Suzanne and her crew still make it a great wee place to stay.The breakfast is everything you could hope for 👍

WWoodside Hotel Doune

Suzanne was a good a host as weve ever came across, full of friendlyness as soon as you walk in the door, nothing was any trouble to her and the rest of the staff were the same. Would highly recomend.

We like to stay off the beaten path. I've stayed more nights in Hilton and Marriott properties than most people spend traveling their entire lives so I avoid the standard corporate feel those offer. The Woodside is quiet, quaint, and the staff very friendly and warm. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic.

The food was good and staff friendly but the hotel needs upgrading properly. The staircase is difficult for those with a walking stick. We stayed two different nights outgoing on holiday and returning The first room the bathroom was not good shower over bath but no shwer curtain. Carpet on the floor and frankly a urine smell near the toilet in the bathroom. The bedroom on the 2nd night had a walk in shower which was better, but outside the window was the exhaust pipe to probably the Central Heating which kept me away all night and the headboard to the be was loose I had to put two towels behind the top of the board to stop it rattling! Sorry would not recommnd to friends at present unless they improve.

Being refurbished but had top change rooms because heater could not be shut off in room. One of the new rooms was remodeled and good but the other room was drab and not clean. Rooms were not serviced on the middle day of our two-night stay. Hope the new owners continue to improve.

Received a friendly welcome. The hotel was full which endorses my comments. Had a nice dinner and the owner sat and chatted with us. Other staff were friendly. We would use it again.
