a little gem close to Dresden

It was a bit hard to find on the rental car's GPS as we aren't Germans. Once we arrived we found it in a very quiet corner off the main road with a garden in front of our window. The owners (brother & sister) were very kind and helpful, even cooked sunny eggs for our breakfast!

A gem hidden out of plain sight: the Sonnenhof in Reichenberg might not be an obvious first choice for Dresden visitors. However, travelers who are not just interested in Zwinger and Frauenkirche and who prefer a rather intimate place to stay: don’t look further. You will find a family run pension with great dedicated service and excellent breakfast that is located right in the middle of everything. The attractions of Dresden are a short drive so is the unique chateau of Moritzburg with its horse stables and vast lakes. If you prefer public transport: the bus stop is a 5-minute walk away. The famous town of Meissen is equally easy to reach as are many other places of interest. The rooms are modern and tasteful, parking is easy and if you have an electric vehicle, you even find a charging station. Highly recommended.

Bei Ankunft sehr freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Empfang, mit entsprechenden Empfehlungen wo man gut Speisen kann und was man besichtigen sollte. Das Hotel ist ruhig gelegen, macht einen familiär geführten Eindruck und ist sehr gepflegt. Leider sind die Parkmöglichkeiten sehr begrenzt. Ansonsten war der Aufenthalt sehr schön, das Frühstück wurde individuell nach persönlichem Wunsch zusammengestellt und war sehr umfangreich. Das Preis / Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. Auf jeden Fall lohnt sich ein Besuch, wenn man Dresden besichtigen möchte

The hotel Sonnenhof is a great example why we like to travel in Germany: the hosts were so friendly and welcoming; the surroundings of the hotel and the village were so nice and relaxing. Everything went so smoothly. And the breakfast was excellent.
