Coming from the states with extensive travel experience, I can say that it is shocking to have a hotel where every feature feels like the main feature. The restaurants and bar are self sufficient - they do not seem to need the hotel to exist, very uncommon in my experience. In fact, it was clear that there were regular customers there, making me feel very at home. To that point, the staff was extremely courteous and informative of local events.

Wonderful quaint hotel. I was enjoying a beer after work and a Christmas party broke out. Santa, kid choir, snow outside, parents, grandparents were all enjoying the festivities.

Polite and accommodating staff. Grounds are absolutely beautiful for golfers or families, alike. 20 minutes away from Mullingar and 5 minutes from Tyrrellspass, with shopping, pubs, historical sites (Belvedere, Lake Ennell) nearby. Spacious rooms allow for plenty of room to spread out and enjoy some privacy. Close to all highways to get you where you need to go. Highly recommend for those looking for a taste of Ireland with modern amenities.

Very simple and pleasant place to stay. Our room and the whole facility we saw were impeccably clean. Beds were comfy. Room was comfortably warm (even tho it was howling outside with freezing rain pelting down in sheets!).
We would stay here again happily.
Additional note: I suspect Tullamore is overlooked as a town to stay and explore. It’s a cool *old* town that retains its character. Blue Eyes Bakery became a favorite spot for us. Excellent food/pastries. And absolutely *superb* coffee!

I have nothing but good words to say about the Bloomfield staff. I needed to attend a funeral in Mullingar during one of the worst snow storms of the last hundred years.I stayed in the Bloomfield during this time and the staff were kind and attentive.I would particularly like to single out Orla and the lovely girl from Slovakia.
At one point. Orla (a Westmeath native) who is a very slight girl, marched up to me in the lobby, with shovel in hand, and said that she was ready to help me dig out...

We enjoyed walking around town and going in the shops. Everything was comfortable and convenient. My grandson really enjoyed the playground out back. He wanted to keep going back. The full Irish breakfast was really delicious! The service at breakfast was really good, but the Pub only had one waitress so the wait for the check was very long. All in all we would definitely go back again. Also we got there way before check-in time, but they went out of their way to get us in our room way early.

We absolutely loved our stay here! It was such a gorgeous castle and our room made us feel like royalty. It had an amazing shower and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful! The restaurant was really cool! We would love to come back!

We had a truly wonderful stay at Riverdale House! The room was beautiful, extremely clean and well prepared for guests. Neil and Avril were so friendly and warm, and gave great recommendations for local experiences! Neil even wrote a detailed list of a west coast driving tour for us to embark on (which we did!) and it was out of this world! Highly recommend this lovely B&B - we will be back! Caitlin & Josh
