With new rules, restrictions and safety measures to follow, travel looks a lot different these days. These are some handy things to know before you fly off to East Cantons:

• Know what, if any, rules or restrictions apply to both your destination and origin. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so check before you lock something in.
• Requirements state you must wear a face mask at the airport, including at screening checkpoints. Be prepared to lower your mask for identification purposes when asked.
• To decrease the risk of cross-contamination, place your boarding pass on the reader yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your pass directly to a TSA officer.
• You are now permitted to take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on baggage. This will need to be removed for X-ray scanning.
• Put any personal items (e.g, keys, phone and coins) in your carry-on instead of a bin to reduce handling during the screening process.
• Transport all food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Keeping your food separate from your carry-on makes it less likely that a TSA employee will need to open your bag for inspection.
