Southland Casino Hotel

"I've stayed there multiple times; it the perfect spot for long distance travel; clean rooms, great food, live entertain (while you eat and sometimes in the casino area), polite staff. The reason I did not give it a 5 star rating is because during my last visit, there was a problem with the elevator. I was told that when one stop working, they all stop working. Initially, I had no issue with that - safety first, always! However, thereafter, I was told that I could not take the stairs; they were for emergency only. So we had to wait 'til the elevators were fixed before we could get to our rooms. Staff worked swiftly to get the repair made and the wait wasn't terribly bad - perhaps the hotel could consider offering water, coffee, or wine during the wait (should it happen again)."

"The on property restaurants were great! Food and deserts were very good, with large portions! The room was very nice, bathroom needs some detail work on the tile, but other than that, the room was very nice. However, the plate on the door knob assembly was missing a screw and didn’t shut all the way on a couple of occasions. We told the cleaning lady about it, she was cleaning the room next door, as we were walking in the door. She said she would let maintenance know, but no one ever came. The only other issue we had, was they only had 2 sets of towels for 2 people for 2 days. We asked the front desk and she said she would have some sent up, they never came! Luckily, there was a guy cleaning a room down the hall and we asked him for some, which he gladly gave to us!"
