"the hotel was nice!! our kids had a ball. There were 11 of us and didn't run out of stuff to do. The pizza is sub par so we decided to just go out to eat. We saw several employees sneaking out behind the building at the outdoor pool smoking but not sure if it's allowed. The pull out couch mattress is horrible. The toilets in the rooms we stayed in are very low to the ground and the mattresses are high. The mattresses on the beds were comfortable. The staff talked very fast when we checked in and was unable to understand clear instructions."

This information was not included on the description or pricing. I’ve gone to Gatlinburg for 40+ years and this is the first time I’ve been charged for parking at an establishment I was staying at. "We recently stayed at The Read House hotel in Chattanooga and were very disappointed by how a serious cleanliness issue was handled. Ou our first evening, we found a live cockroach in our room. We killed it and immediately called the front desk. Someone to pick up the tissue with the bug, without saying a word and left. We never received an apology, follow-up or any acknowledgement afterward. At checkout, we mentioned the incident again to a different staff member, and she didn't react or apologize either, which lead us to believe that this was not an isolated incident and that the hotel staff is aware of the issue. For a hotel in this price range, we expect at least a basic acknowledgment of the situation and some reassurance that it would be addressed. This experience really affected our impression of the hotel."

"Room was very spacious and clean. Lots of amenities including free popcorn, coffee, hot chocolate etc. Breakfast was excellent with lots of fresh and hot items to choose from. The only area that could use some TLC was the bathroom in our room. Caulking needed to be redone, the shower door didn't stay closed, plus the door handle of the shower was coming off. But the rainfall showerhead was a nice bonus. Overall, excellent hotel that we would definitely stay at again. "
